Ko Phi Phi, Thailand

October 14 – 16, 2025

This island is a popular, small Thai island a few hour ferry from Phuket. We had a sunny ferry ride over and the views of the islands as we approached were stunning. There are no cars on the island, but you can walk from one side of town to the other in about 20 minutes.

These ‘long boats’ have big outboard car-like engines and act like water taxis, taking tourists to nearby beaches and islands.

Beautiful sunset for first night and had Pad Thai with our Phi Phi roommate, Dennis, from Germany.

Fire shows are popular activities on Thai islands, so we watched a fire show and participated in limbo and jump rope!

The next day, we embarked on an island hopping cruise. Met loads of new friends, saw stunning islands, and even snorkeled with a black-tipped reef shark!

We stopped at Monkey Beach and saw the monkeys try to steal a variety of items from the visiting tourists.

We visited Maya Bay – known from the 2000s movie The Beach.

And had a fantastic sunset before heading back to the port.

Enjoyed a smoothie bowl and headed to the speed boat to hop over to Koh Lanta for a few days!
