December 2 – December 5, 2025
We stayed in the town of Fujikawaguchiko to view Mt. Fuji – and we got SUPER lucky with the weather as sometimes the mountain is not visible due to fog/clouds.
On the Shinkansen (bullet train) between Osaka and Tokyo, you can see Mt. Fuji in the distance.
When we arrived, we had an awesome view of Mt. Fuji from the Fujikawaguchiko train station. Snow storm back in Indy meant I got to work with a view!
Even the evening was clear and we had a perfect view of the mountain with a full moon.
The next day we decided to hike to a popular viewing point rather than taking the gondola…Apple Maps led us to a hiking trail that didn’t exist so we did a little bit of bush whacking.
The view from the top was worth it – they even had a swing!
To wrap up our visit we hiked to a famous site (Chureito Pagoda) – popular given Mt. Fuji is in the background.
Off to Tokyo the next day!
